The ultimate test of a course like Strategic Life Training is the fruit that it has produced in those who are graduates of the course. Below are examples of men and women whose trajectory in life has been impacted by their experience with Strategic Life Training. They are men and women set on a course to shape the culture around them with the life of God's Kingdom.

Name: Mary Beth Hart
Age: 23
Occupation: Journalist
Profile: Mary Beth is a reporter for the The Lansing State Journal in her home state of Michigan. Mary Beth's experience includes a six-month internship at the Lansing newspaper, one year as an editorial assistant for World Magazine, and a four-month internship at the Washington Times in Washington, D.C. She is a fellow of the World Journalism Institute and graduated Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois, in May 2000, with a degree in history and political science.

Testimony: "Strategic Life Training prepared me in the sense that I realized that I had a purpose and a calling in life. Moreover, the worldview and life training I received through SLT is essential to my daily work. My job is an opportunity to use the gifts and revelation God has given me to ring Christ and His Kingdom to a secular newsroom, to those I interact with daily in the city, and through my coverage of local news and trends. I hope to be salt and light, to convey and exemplify a Christian worldview to those in my sphere of influence. I see my work as my calling more than ever before. I view it as a calling versus a career.

"My friendships have reached a new level that I have never experienced before through Strategic Life Training. SLT really ruined me for anything less. I now expect friends to be a certain way to me and for me to be a certain level to them—specifically by being encouraging and affirming. It's a higher level of friendship.

"The program really does establish in you a lifestyle of learning, and encourages more revelation from God. I want to be involved in it as long as the Lord allows. It has developed in me a desire to be trained—training doesn't end."

Name: Jon Pinkston
Age: 30
Occupation: Businessman
Profile: Jon Pinkston is employed as a management consultant for one of the major consulting firms. His past experience is in investment management in research, and he recently received a MBA from UCLA.

Testimony: "SLT has impacted mine and my wife's lives in ways that continue to bear fruit daily. While the curriculum is full of great teaching by some of the most articulate pastors and teachers, it is not the teaching that makes it great. SLT is built upon the foundation that truth and relationship go hand in hand. It was through this interaction with our mentors and those around us that we were able to process and apply what we learned. With this application, SLT produced a tool that we carry with us in our family today—a tool to examine our own hearts against the measure of God's word and then seek application in our family, our careers and everywhere we have influence."

Name: Karis Hall
Age: 25
Occupation: Teacher
Profile: Karis graduated from Texas A&M University in May 1997 with a BS in Early Childhood Education. She moved to Lansing, Michigan to be a part of New Covenant Christian School and learn about incorporating Christian worldview into education. Karis has moved home to teach at her elementary and high school alma mater. As her dad, Dudley Hall, and brother David are trying to reach parents and the present generation, Karis is beginning to write and speak about how we can impact the next generation in education.

Testimony: "It is hard to explain all that I have learned through the SLT course because it is so much more than just information learned. For me, it is a perspective broadened, a lifestyle embraced, and a relationship encountered. It has deepened the way I think, act, and relate to others.

"As a first year intern, I was orientated with the presentation of a whole new way of looking at Christianity, myself, and my life. I was introduced to something bigger than me, something worth being a part of, something worth dedicating my life to. Although I was reared in the church and educated in a Christian school, I had never really seen my specific role in the Kingdom of God."

Name: Michelle Kolinger
Age: 25
Occupation: Marketing
Profile: Michelle currently works at Questium, an internet division of Health Net, Inc., as a web content manager and copywriter. This fall, she will be pursuing her MBA and teaching credential in the San Francisco Bay area. She continues to serve as the primary pianist on her church's worship team.

Testimony: "SLT has been an excellent tool in making my life effective. When I was younger, I used to get really disturbed about some of the evil that would go on in the world. It became even more frustrating when I couldn't do anything about it. In many ways, SLT has moved me from wishing I could bring about change, to actually being a change agent. SLT has equipped me with tools necessary for bringing about change to ungodly situations.

"I have developed some very significant relationships from SLT. It is encouraging to spend time with those who have a strong passion for God and who want to make a difference in their communities. Many of the students I have met have pushed me to reach for new levels of excellence in my life. I have a lot of faith for the impact that the students of SLT will make in our generation. I wholeheartedly recommend SLT to anyone who is serious about living with purpose and effectiveness."

Name: Hannah Skandera
Age: 26
Occupation: Political Analyst
Profile:
Hanna graduated as the valedictorian of the Pepperdine Graduate School of Public Policy and previously worked for the Hoover Institute, which is an internationally respected political think tank at Stanford University in Southern California. Hanna was recently appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger as the Assistant Secretary of Education, K-12 for the State of California.

Testimony: "Strategic Life Training equipped me with the fundamentals. It provided me with a timeless framework for viewing the world, a tangible opportunity to live and understand my beliefs, a unique picture of relationships lived to produce a transformed world. Through my experience in SLT, I have a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between truth and relationship, and an insatiable appetite to pursue them jointly. SLT captures the distinction between living life and living life abundantly. True liberty, the freedom to do what I ought, is found at the crossroads of this distinction. Anyone who participates in SLT will find themselves at this crossroads."

Name: Emily Christensen
Age:
22
Occupation: Medical Assistant Trainee
Profile: Emily is currently working to complete the Medical Assisting program at Lake Washington Technical College.

Testimony: "Through Strategic Life Training, my daily relationship with the Lord has reached a new level of trust and dependency on Him. I am able to analyze and pick apart issues and situations and get to the root level in a way that I could never dream of before. It was the difference of just getting through life brainlessly washed about by every wave of thought, versus engaging in life by challenging false ideas and questioning faulty character in both myself and others."
