Facilitators

A factor critical to the success of Strategic Life Training as a framework for leadership development in you fellowship is the facilitator. For all participants, the facilitator plays a key role in encouraging and challenging the application of the truth imparted through the course study. The vitality of the facilitator relationship is based on our belief that genuine transformation in a person's life takes place in the context of spiritual relationships with other men and women.

In addition, self-government is strongly emphasized in the course, as leaders must learn to be self-motivated in the management of their talent, resources, and disciplines. Students who approach the course with a desire to grow, and with a commitment to be diligent with their investment, will achieve the most rewarding results.

Facilitators should be men and women who carry the vision for your local fellowship, are proven in character, and desire to invest in the lives of emerging leaders. The highest recommended ratio of facilitators to students is 1:3.

Facilitator Assistance
It is the facilitator that will provide the key relational connection between your local fellowship and the developing leaders in their care. It will be their responsibility to meet with them, counsel with them, talk with them on the phone, and be in regular prayer before the Lord on their behalf.

The SLT office will provide the following to assist the facilitator:

1. Availability - Ongoing availability to assist facilitators in their ministry

2. Training - Specific training sessions for facilitators at the Intensive. First time facilitators receive two-days of training specific to their responsibilities parallel with student classes during the Intensive. The training is intended to help prepare facilitators to succeed in their development of the students (future facilitators) in their care.

3. Facilitator Manual - The manual assists facilitators in their preparation for small group meetings and provides helpful tips and guidelines for facilitating interaction with those they are facilitating. In addition, the manual provides small group discussion outlines that coincide with the student's weekly lesson.
